The young actress that played "Winnie" (sp?) Danica Mckellar went on be a sort of math genius and has been instrumental in getting other young women to pursue math and other non-traditional careers.

She proves that it's better to be smart and cute than dumb and cute.

I remember the show very well. It was a refreshing contrast from the mindless drivel that pollutes the airwaves 99% of the time. I was exactly Kevin's age in the show's time setting (late 60's), and I grew up in a cookie-cutter suburban neighborhood just like his. I could usually relate to his perspective and was disappointed when the show was canceled.

I didn't take lessons as a kid, so I never had a Mrs. Carples, but I suspect that if I had my result would have been a lot like Kevin's.

Interestingly though, as a middle-aged refugee of those "wonder years" I've managed to learn a version of the Cannon in D and probably enjoy it more now than I would have then.
