I have added more photos in a new post in the Photo Gallery Forum. I could not add them to this thread, as it has taken me a week to "almost" view all the other photos. You just have to love dial-up internet connections!

Here's the link to the Photo Gallery:

Greeting from Ines Raquel who stopped for a short visit to play Granados and Piazzolla. I wish I could have stayed longer to hear the rest of you play. The Scriabin piece that LilyLady played was exquisite. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality. I hope we'll have other opportunities to get together. Next time, I will ask my niece Becky to bring her clarinet. She's a superb player. Great photos! Thanks for posting them.

Hi, Everyone! My wife Sue and I had a great time at the Cape Cod Piano-World party. Thanks to all the wonderful people and new friends we made there. Now we know what makes this forum such a great place to be.

An added thrill for me was the chance to hear and record some fantastic pianos. Although I have a very good friend who owns a late model M&H BB, I've never recorded one before. This past weekend I got to record 3 of them. And an August Förster which was more icing on the cake. Anyway, here are the recordings I got. My apologies in advance for less than optimized recordings. But hey, this was a party.

I did my best to identify who was playing... SueKeller is my wife. MrPW is Frank. Tkaczyk. KathyK, InesRaquel, EricGloo, LilyLady, and A441 are members here. The rest I've identified by name.

Not sure what all the pieces are. I've indicated the ones I think I recognise, but I probably made some mistakes. Please correct and fill in the blanks. The last recording is what my piano mics picked up while everyone was quizzing Jacqueline Schwab.

Oh Howard what a gift you have given us!! We can't believe that after all these years of piano parties, we can now listen forever to our old friends and new ones as well.

On a personal level these are the first recordings we have ever had of Jeremy (A441) and Eric playing.

The quality is very good even on our little computer speakers.

Thank you sincerely,

Linda and Jerry

I'll second that thank you.

As I mentioned to Howard in a PM, we often have lots of pictures, but rarely have any recordings, and then it's usually just short clips.

It's wonderful to have pictures & sound now!

Thanks, thanks, thanks Howard. I have just downloaded all the recordings - wow.

Now maybe the players will be kind enough to fill in the blanks and put titles to the music. I think all of us can figure out some of the pieces, but the range is so great that I doubt if any of us know them all. I am pretty sure that some of the offerings were composed by the player and only he (or she) has a name for those pieces.

Thank you Howard.
Wow is right. What a treat to listen to your recordings; tremendous quality even on my computer speakers. I am sure it was a lot of work, but it is greatly appreciated.

(Lilylady, I laughed out loud at your post on the mysterious To Do list; notice that most last minute tasks had to do with PETS.)

What a great event and now, thanks to Howard, one that can be enjoyed by many.

Kathy

Re-listening to all this material in preparation for the uploads was a real treat for me. And the photo spreads put me right back there.

Here's some greater detail on what Sue played:

T342 Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin (1899)
T353-1 Last of the Ragtime Pioneers by Galen Wilkes (1984)
T353-2 Lion Tamer Rag by Mark Janza (1913)
T353-3 Beatles Medley ... here's the ABF thread version Sue mentioned
T-366-4 Sue's ad lib alternate classical-styled ending to a Blues vocal piece... I'm so sorry I didn't bring an extra mic to catch the vocals
T369-1 sightreading Ashokan Fairwell by Jay Ungar (1982)
T369-2 sightreading something... ???
T370-1 sightreading Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton ( 1991 )
T371 Snowy Morning Blues by James P Johnson (1927)
T379-1 Cum Bac by Charles L Johnson (1911)
T379-2 Solace by Scott Joplin (1909)

I re-played T369-2 for Sue and she doesn't know the piece or recall it's name. Just playing a sheet she found lying on the piano while chatting with Eric. Maybe one of Jacqueline's? We'll need a little help with that one.

T-356-3 Mi Mancherai (Il Postino), by Luis E. Bacalov (2003), recorded as Josh Groban and Joshua Bell duet

T-356-4 One, by Eric Gloo (2005)

Please accept my thanks to hosts of the party who opened their homes to us and to all those others that made this possible. It was wonderful venue and I thoroughly enjoyed the company and music. It was especially impressive that Frank was able to order up some delightful weather for the weekend following a rainy start. It was fun to be thrown suddenly into that crowd and find such a variety of people all brought together by the piano and the music. I sensed some real love, friendship and perhaps (?) some good-natured rivalry between the parties. Not too many fights over who got to the piano first. I appreciate the opportunity to play on these wonderful pianos and to such a gracious audience. What terrific support and encouragement that all showed to me, my son and the other players. I’m encouraged to seek other opportunities to play before people and work through the nervousness. The pictures and recordings are a wonderful reminder. It was a truly memorable experience.

Here are the pieces that I played.
T344-1 Brahms, Waltz in Ab Major, Op. 39, no. 15
T344-2 Tkaczyk,Ringtail Adventure(my own first composition, 2009)
T351 Rachmaninoff, Prelude in C# minor, Op. 3

T369-2 I had left my Dan Coates book at the piano. Sue was playing May You Always... from my book of tunes!

thanks again Howard for taking the time to record and post all the music that was played. It's been an excellent after party treat, for sure!!
