Any idea when it's due to be out? It's been over a year since last year's supplement was released and I'm itching to get my hands on a new one. smile

Generally it makes it's debut at the annual PTG conference.
It starts next week in Grand Rapids.

It's not yet listed as forthcoming on Amazon, which is a bad sign as in the past they have had the new supplement listed well in advance. Haven't they recently been coming out in September?

I usually get mine in June or July at the convention. Perhaps it is offered later elsewhere.

Larry's book's gonna have some surprises again.

Of course we always knew.
[or thought we did...]

Despite all the hecklings going on.

Dealers: hope you got your new piano orders in....

Norbert

Purchasing the on-line addition will be the quickest way to get it when it becomes available.

I am not giving away any secrets here, as the website is already up. Instead of doing yearly annual supplements, Larry is doing an update every six months beginning this fall.

The update will cover both acoustic and digital pianos as he has teamed up with a digital expert. It will also be available online and the preview can be seen at:

PianoBuyer.com

He has gone through great pains to make it appealing not only to the person buying a piano right now, but also to anyone who loves pianos. There will be articles included that will appeal to any piano lover and the look has been worked on to appeal better as well. I envision lots of members here subscribing just for the fun of it.

I truly think it will be a greater resource and more widely used now. Kudos to Larry, Alden, Steve Cohen, and the rest of The Piano Book team! I look forward to its release this fall.

He says that they are made in the USA...among other things.

Actually they are made in Haverhill, Massachusetts, about 30 to 45 minutes outside of Boston.

Now, it may occasionally be mistaken for Mongolia, but there are more McDonald restaurants in Mongolia. wink

Seriously, Haverhill is small town USA. The only thing that even resembles Mongolia is the cute yurt motel on the edge of town:

Actually, I believe it was I who started the little joke about Mongolia in another thread with reference to where a certain brand may or may not have been manufactured.

You may not believe this, but as we speak my wife is actually in Mongolia - on a long dreamed of tour of that exotic country. Those circular tents as shown above will be her shelter for many nights on the trip and are called a "Ger".

If you like I can attempt to contact her and see if she can detect any signs of piano manufacturing going on - even as she travels northward by horseback to visit the so-called "Reindeer people". Ah...perhaps it is they who are into keyboard instruments!!
