I was wondering, has anyone here used ebook reader, like Kindle DX for sheet music?

I thought it would be great to have something like this to carry to a gig instead of a real book. It would be much lighter, and you don't have to shuffle through tons of paper to find the tune you want to play.

You probably don't want to use this to sight read difficult heads, but if perfect you need to see the chord changes for quick reference. What do you guys think?

etcetera, I use 'Real Book App on Iphone'. Very useful. In fact, it allows me to revise the chords due to personal preference or error, or if you want to change the key. You can add your own music to it. It's just chords though, no melody. But I can't imagine that being an issue.

I was thinking of Kindle too for actual sheet music. Size is important in that case. But I don't need Kindle at the moment since there is Kindle app in Iphone (which I use heavily).

jazzwee,

yea the iphone app sounds great. One time this singer brought charts for the band.. but the chord changes were ones she got from band in a box and it was horrible. It would have been nice to have the iphone app with me then.

I am not sure how well the kindle DX will do on actual gigging situation.. it might be a lot of hassle going between index page and tunes, and I am not sure if the font will be big enough for sight-reading actual notes. Besides, it's really not worth paying $500. I guess I'll consider buying one if I win the lottery.
