Matching bench and three manuals were included. Piano was originally purchased in 2002 making it 11 years old. Personal thanks go to the seller for offering this outstanding digital! [ Additional pricing info] The total price and value of my CLP-990M also reflects the repairs that were needed (due to damage upon delivery from long distance hauling) plus two other items I had to purchase to bring the piano back to full functionality: 1) Repair of the pedals and pedal connector plug - $196.31 2) Adjustment of the sustain pedal for grating feel/noise - $115.00 3) Yamaha Parts - Pedal support bolt - $28.47 4) Yamaha Parts - AC power cord - $48.86 Add the four items above ($388.64) to $3,275 (piano + shipping) and the new grand total is: $3,663.64I paid nearly as much for the delivery and repairs as I did for the piano: $1,663.64 (delivery + repairs) plus $2,000 (piano) = $3,663.64. The damage to the pedals underneath the piano was due to a small white pedal connector plug that is lower than the frame of the cabinet which was crushed/pushed up into the pedal box damaging both the plug, cable, and, circuit board. The plug and circuit board parts had to be replaced. Here is a photo of the white connector plug which you can see in the right side of the photo with the multi-colored wires (from the cable) attached to it: http://imgur.com/yxvrpgTPlease note that I found out that many professional piano movers are not even aware of this small pedal connector plug (in the older Clavinova models) which can be damaged easily when placing the piano onto skid boards or a dolly. Only by moving the piano very carefully and avoiding contact with the connector plug can one prevent damage to the plug and pedal box. Since the plug is not visible when moving the piano it becomes easily damaged without the mover's knowing about it. There was also no pedal support bolt attached to the piano when the seller took the above photo as it means the seller didn't have one, so I purchased this part along with a new AC cord to have everything that was needed. Final note: The CLP-990M may very well be the best digital that Yamaha has come out with since 2001, as it is certainly worth buying if you can find a seller that is offering one in good condition. Included in the price are four lessons. I'm already near the end of Alfred's book 1 without any outside help, so it will be interesting to see what the teacher has to say about my playing. I'm currently using a Yamaha YDP-S31, bought used earlier this year.
I also tested a Roland in the same price range, but it had two major issues for me. First, the headphone output had constant hiss, unchanged by volume. I haven't heard any hiss on my Yamaha or the other three I tried at the store. Second, the main piano sound sounded too much like synth instead of the real thing. Some people maypref synth, so they can tinker with the sound, but I vastly prefer samples.
I went in to the store aiming for $2500 tax inclusive (~$2200). The store would only go down to around $2350, but threw in $100 worth of lessons, which I had planned to take sometime soon anyway. I ended up just $50 shy of my target.
