Hello all,
Can anyone here possibly give me an example of a locked hands piano voicing? I have a tune in my head that I can hear in locked hand style, but I can't getthe voicings to sound right at the piano...

L.H. doubles the right hand melody note, right? Then what??

Thanks in advance,
Bev

Major or minor 6th chords voiced on the chord notes, melody doubled in the bass and then usually the dim chord that act as a dominant on the notes beetwen the chord notes. Or you can play the "drop 2" and play the 2nd note of the chords in the bass.

Thanks! I kept trying to use the 7th, and it didn't sound right.

Can you also explain the drop 2 voicing, please?

thanks
Bev
