Hi, has anyone watched this video, and if so, I'd love to hear your opinio. I pulled it out of some packed boxes and wondered at what age you would incorporate her ideas into lessons? Also, I'm curious as to how much "touching" a teacher is allowed to do to check for tension in wrists, fingers, arms, etc.

i have seen it and also had some questions on it, is it possible and or practicle to lift the arm, as in her video, on every phrase. My teacher said it wouldn't be possible and i should only really us it for chords and slurs, but in the video her and her students use her technique very well.
What i don't understand the most about it is how to play a scale/arpeggio passage legato when your lifting and droping your arm ? i whish she would have went more into detail or came out with another vid. or book maybe with some exercises. it seems she kind of jumps from the five finger pattern to repetoire with out really providing anything in between.

but as far as for your question i am not a teacher but a student who had suffered an injury and i wish i had been indroduced to this type of playing right away (i am just learning it now) instead i was taught to just play with my fingers on the keys. but in the vid. i believe her youngest student is 9 yro. and as for the touching thing i would just ask then if they feel confortable with it and then go as far as you feel confortable.

I would like to hear opinions as well as I'm a student interested in the videos. If some don't feel comfortable posting on a public forum I would be glad to get private messages.

Thank you.
