Hi, I am looking to buy a 1973 American style Yamaha M2G and it was apparently appraised for about $2000. The idividual is selling it for $900 shipped. The piano looks to be in good shape and the appraiser, who I talked to, said it did not need to be tuned and was a good piano. The piano would be for my daughter. Any thoughts on this model and is this too old for a piano? Thanks for the input.

If my memory still works, the M2G was built in Japan. Sounds like a long distance transaction? Was the appraiser commissioned by the seller? A 36 year old Asian piano is getting long in the tooth for many years of useful service to your family. Without a technical survay that you have commissioned, I would be leary.

Thanks for all the replies. I bought the piano which was in Santa Cruz,Ca. and had it moved to San Jose,Ca. Cole's piano service appraised the piano and he stated he evaluated the piano and did not rec. tuning it at the time and felt the piano was in good condition and thus the value of $2200. Thanks and thoughts?

BTW the serial number is B1607206 and apparently her grandmother who was a Munich Opera Singer had bought/played the piano. (Just an interesting tidbit. Thanks again
