I am new to the forum and I am not sure if this is the correct place in the forum to post the question either.

I am looking to buy a piano within the next few days and after visiting many stores; I am finally settling on the Young Chang 131 pianos. I found a good deal on a pre-owned piano: Young Chang U-131, it is close to 30 years old and it looks like it is in excellent condition. (I am still planning to have it inspected just to be complete safe.)
I couldn’t help notice that Young Chang doesn’t sell the “U” models anymore, they sell the T (ex: T-131). Does any one here know why? Is it one of those things that change because they moved the factory (I understand older models like the one I am looking at are built in Korea)? Or does the T series have considerable improvements over the U series (U-131)?
I really have no preference when it comes to buying new vs pre-owned as I understand that pianos will last quite a while (if serviced)
After getting quotes on the new T-131 from a piano store I found out that it is about 30% more in cost to the pre-owned U-131, is the T-131 much better? Is it worth it? My budget is kind of limited, but I also don’t want to miss out on any major improvements…

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The piano that Young Chang made 30 years ago isn't as good a piano as the piano that they make today. I tuned a lot of Young Changs about 25 years ago. I worked for a dealer at that time. The pianos that I tuned in that era don't compare very well to what came later.

My experience with Korean pianos of that era is that they have not aged gracefully. Lots of action and key problems in my area.

I don't know that specific model, so it may be oK.
