And that expiration date is June 4, 2010. (I don't know why, but I was surprised at how quickly I could find this info on the web.)

May be we could do another e-cital before June. Probably in December-January or so I think.

Just had a chance to listen to the first two recordings... Whippen Boy, fantastic playing of the Etude #3 by Liszt!!!

chopin 952- sparkling playing on #5.

As soon as I have some down time I'm listening to all of the recordings. What a treat.

By chance any recordings made of this recital? Would be great to hear some fresh approaches.

Sincerely.

I play Liszt's Transcendental Etudes 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 10, 11 & 4 & 12 at a pinch.

If there was another recital opportunity, I would love to have a crack at the Liapunov Transcendental edutes which seem, after a quick evaluation of the scores, rather more challenging than Liszt's.

rsoares - you are welcome to download the files and put on a CD if you like.

PartyPianist - do you have any Etude ready, besides those already played, that you want to submit?

Aaah! People are already playing the Scriabin Etude, which is the only piece I have ready.

Wait can i still submit mine although its past the deadline? I play it faster than YD, and I have a quite different interpretation.

By the way, Nice Job YD!

I think it already happened, although I think it should be done again!

By then, I could have Chopin's Op. 25 No. 10 ready or some Alkan etudes I'm learning (Op 35 Nos. 3 and 5 and "Le Chemin de Fer" Op. 27)

I absolutely agree =)
I'm not entirely sure if I can get my Chopin Op25 Nr12 to a presentable level, but It would certainly be very interesting and fun to try =)

This thread was started March 9 and the recital was in the summer. If we start now, there will be much more time to prepare for this, and there could be more people and more entries. What do you all think? Can somebody make another thread for this? I'm already excited. =) =)

Sounds like fun. It's going to be a busy year...

It's too bad the "Unsung Heroes" and "Schumann Anniversary" E-recitals in 2010 don't have their own sticky threads already, so that people new to the forum can see they are in the works.

Thanks for the invite, but must pass for the near future...it is hard for me to get practice time in (among other issues) but if I ever get anything prepared as well as the talented people in this forum I will definitely love to contribute....but for me to get to taht level will be a while...

does the board have have beginning, intermediate and advanced recitals?

The whole recital, from beginning to end, was beautiful. Thank you. More, please.

Heh, I'm studying Chopin's 25-12 also, but my access to decent recording equipment is really zero. Shame, seems like fun. smile

This etude recital is about to expired very soon. I think we will have another, but I do not know when. Please keep checking back.
As far as E-citals, they are more active in the AB Forum. We have several Chopin E-citals. We will have one for Schumann music coming up next weekend. We will also have Mendelssohn, Beethoven later this year.
