I was listening to the audio version of the November 2007 of the PTJ, (Thank you Ben McKlveen) and heard Ben read a short blurb from the Tips, Tools, and Techniques section about a shareware computer program called "Scale Ripper". It can be downloaded from
Scale Ripper Page . It is a piano rescaling program. I thought I'd dink with it a little and maybe relearn a few things about rescaling. However, there's no help with it, and I can't figure out hardly anything about its use, other than how to enter each string length it. I get the feeling that it could be a useful program, as it calculates and provides several graphs on items such as string tension, inhamonicity, break point percentage, loudness, stiffness, and impedance.
I did see during the installation process that it states that the help system is not active yet. And that's right. It doesn't work. The download web site does not offer any help information, nor any other information about finding help. Does anyone know how to find out how to use Scale Ripper?
Thanks,
