I am wondering if anyone knows where I could get a "hammer mechanism" so that I can allow my students to actually SEE the mechanism and not just by opening the piano, etc. (You see these in piano stores)

Anyone? Has anyone tried to get one from a piano company?

Maybe a friendly piano technician would give you a contact for purchasing one, or, if it worked out, a visit to their shop to conduct a "live" demonstration for your student group, or to your studio using your piano as the model.

I know my piano technician, Jim Snyder, PTG, Bonney Lake, WA., has presented such programs to MTNA groups, and he has offered this to me for my students before - he would come to my studio and present a "tour" of the piano.

If you visit the PTG (Piano Technicians Guild) they have a very fine website of interest to everyone.
