Your 'Dies Irae' seems more to me like a paraphrase than a transcription. I feel that some of Verdi's dynamics starting at measure 53, where the score goes from p to pp are missing from your transcription. The hushed murmur of the chorus here just adds to the dramatic horror of the rest of the original.

Also in a couple of the measures where the chorus is silent and the orchestra has descending passages in sixteenth-notes (measures 9 and 17) you have rather thunderous rising arpeggios. Is there a reason not to try to imitate what Verdi wrote?

My overall impression is that there is too much reliance on arpeggio figures throughout.

Nevertheless, it's an impressive bit of writing and playing.

Regards,

BruceD

You opened 4 (!) threads like this in Feb and Mar 2009. Why the need for the same thread? You could simply "bump" the thread.

I like your playing, but there is no need for so many threads:

Hi Thx for your comment, I appreciate,

you're totally right, this piano version is more a paraphrase than a strict piano transcription, good point, on the arpeggios I may have put too many too.. however thx for the compliments

Cheers'
