Is there such a thing as a digital travel keyboard that is light enough to carry on an airplane? It would be great to be able to practice a bit when traveling even if the sound is only through headphones.

the M-audio KeyStudio 49i works for me. It was the only 37" wide controller with a single built-in piano voice. "Synth" key action however, which is annoying, compared to my other instruments. I need carry only the keystudio, headphones, and a 9 volt power supply.

People laugh contemptuously at
those roll-out pianos on a plastic
sheet, but I actually tried one
and found it to be not a joke
at all. You could actually do
some playing on this. And
as for portability, it's unbeatable,
since you can carry it in your
pocket. I saw it once advertised
on late-night tv as an introductory
piano learning system, and I
can see why. A beginner
could actually learn to play on
this.

You must have played a different roll-up than I did. The one that I played was monophonic and needed a huge press to make any sound at all. It was like playing a rubber bathmat, only worse. I could only play with one finger, at glacial speed. And it sounded awful to boot.

You are being too kind. These rollup toys are completely worthless to a pianist.

I only can see it as a 'joke'..........

Nice like a joke...but.....seriously ......toy....worthless for real pianowork....
