Hi, Since i'm learning new pieces (basic pieces I'm a begginer) using different movements with the finger at the end I feel a litle sore in the forearm, so It's normal this sore because I'm making new movements never used before or it's that I'm applying unnecessary tensión in the playing.

If you are experiencing soreness in the forearm, particularly the bottom (palm side), then you are not using your arm weight. Correct what you are doing or you will get tendonitis. Use your arm weight instead of your finger. Fingers are used mostly or articulation to enhance the sound but it is not the main source of the force.

Amen to Jazzwee. Do you have a teacher?

If so, you need to discuss this with your teacher. If not, you should probably get a teacher to help you with good arm position and the use of the whole body in creating tone.

Any kind of soreness means that you are not using muscles correctly. I used to get sore in my neck/shoulder area when I was younger. We discovered that I was raising my shoulders when I played. This created more tension, but not only that, I did not have the full range of musical expression available to me.

Soreness is a warning. Like Jazzwee said. We play from our arm for the power and the fingers articulate. The wrist and knuckles help in changing the tone. By keeping them stiff or various levels of give, all help to give you the sound that you need to create the musicality of the piece.

Good Luck.
