This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

So cute! Until he pees on that Steinway.... all that dry wood, the aroma would be permanant. funny that you mention that. we're actually having that problem now with our cat. hasn't hit the piano yet but i fear he may one day because he's come pretty close. he got a spot on the carpet by the pedals last week. the stench was so bad it almost singed my nose hairs. it would have peeled paint! i don't know...maybe he's trying to tell me something.

Dave, Unless it's a "marking" behavior (usually by unneutered animals), urination outside the litter box isn't normal for a cat. It's generally a sign of a physical problem or of psychological distress. I recommend a trip to the veterinarian. Steven

I had to put my 15 yr old cat down because of that. And he didn't start doing it until I brought a new cat into the house. Very bad move! Cats' pshchys are very delicate. It doesn't take much to drive them crazy and drive them to bad behavior. I learned it the hard way.

The cat could have a bladder infection. I'd take him to the doc so he can figure it out. Also, I know that if it is a behavior thing, cats need 1 litter box per cat +1. So my one cat gets two litter boxes. Ever since we added the 2nd it hasn't been an issue.
