Hello all,

I'm a novice to the piano world forums, and I need some help getting some information about an old Ivers and Pond piano. The piano has been in our family for longer than I've been around, and recently was passed on to me. The piano is an Ivers and Pond grand piano, serial number 49641. It is in excellent condition and is still played quite often.
Can anyone tell me when this piano was made, and how much it might be worth? It has a great deal more sentimental value than monetary value I'm sure, but I just want to make sure I capture the true value for my homeowners insurance.
Thanks for any help anybody can provide!

My parents have an old Ivers and Pond piano as well. Serial number 91. Markings indicate it was made in Boston. Built like a tank. Hasn't been tuned in decades and it still sounds pretty good!

It was made in 1911. Really not much value.

The piano was made between 1910 and 1915. Closer to 1910. If it is in original condition, it is probably only worth about 1,000; but, since you did not specify its size or post pics, it's hard to say. However, Ivers & Pond pianos are good candidates for restoration. If the piano was restored competently, you would probably have a piano with comparable performance to more famous high-performance pianos. Such restoration work would probably cost 10-20,000 but it's hard to say without seeing the piano and would depend on who you ask.
