Sounds good, Bruce. The tuning isn't all that bad, though I can tell if I listen carefully that it needs a tuning. wink

Excellent playing, too. I loved the way you carried the melody. That can be such a challenge with Rachmaninoff as I found when I studied the Sérénade from Op. 3. I'm still trying to perfect that to a recordable level, even though I have all the notes. frown

Thanks for sharing! smile

A beautiful piece, beautifully played.

This is my second listen of your recording, and something struck me this time that I didn't notice the first time --your pedaling is flawless (I guess that's why I didn't notice the first time!). I would imagine that it is a real challenge to pedal this piece - as Horowitzian said, carrying the melody - without blurring the lovely bass line. Excellent job.

Did you find the pedaling to be a particular challenge in this piece, or did it just fall into place naturally?

Heidi

heidiv :

This is a beautiful Prelude, isn't it?

Thank you for your comment about the pedaling of this piece. I'm one of those lucky ones who rarely has to work out pedaling issues because pedaling comes fairly instinctively to me. Certainly, in this piece, I never even thought about it.

Regards,

You can play that at my house anytime. I like what Horowitz said about pedaling....something like...it's something you can't teach. I can hear that clarity in your playing.
