As a followup to yesterday, the lesson went alright.
I tried to figure out what the 2 sisters had played with their last teacher. Problem 1-could not find their notebooks (no surprise). I had to trust their word.
The younger one did not like playing for me at all but warmed up after I asked her to play some entertainment songs for me. It turns out that it will be alright for me not to push her too hard this year. Maybe by allowing her to play the music she likes will give me some wiggle room to include technical music in her homework.
The older one really enjoyed playing piano. She seemed eager to play for me and I look forward to working with her. I think she'll be a very quick learner so I am eager to have her progress at a decent pace.
We'll see. All the mom seems to want is to give her daughters another path to try. There's no pressure on me to have them on stage any time soon!
