Fun,
Congratulation; very nice instrument and room environment too!
The shots are excellent also: could serve immediately in a sales brochure.
The room acoutics look quite lively to me but as you say you find the sound very nice everything must be OK.
Enjoy,
schwammerl.

That is one nice piano. I love the mahogany and the ripples. My goodness; breath-taking. And those strong, simple legs. You lucky dog; you! Enjoy It looks good in the room too.

Beautiful piano!! (Your living room looks like it's larger than my two bedroom apartment, but then again, I live in NYC, where pianos are big and apartments are small) that would be NO problem for me.

The Germans told me years ago this finish is no longer happening in Germany. Looks like they're missing out on quite something..... Norbert

The Germans told me years ago this finish is no longer happening in Germany. I remember a photograph of a Seiler 186 in that finish years ago. Seiler was actually one of the most progressive when it came to offering custom finishes. Nowadays, looking at their latest catalogue, they (and it seems, many others) have returned to few basic finishes. You can chose between polished black, polished black and polished black. I guess, during these times nobody wants to add a surcharge to an already pricey German grand except maybe a few. That's too sad. Any reason why the Germans have done away with this? Did it not sell? Was marketability the only reason?

Thank you for all the kind words. I sure look forward to enjoy this piano for a long time. It's like a dream come through to have such a high caliber piano at home. Schwammerl, once the piano is tuned in one month time, I'll look at the room acoustics more. The room has thick carpet, fabric window blinds for the two large windows, and the fabric couch, so I hope that's good enough. Thanks for pointing that out! Apple, I've seen pyramid mahogany offered by different piano manufacturers, including Mason & Hamlin, Steinway (there's one in ebay now), Bosendorfer etc. Larry Fine's book also list this model for Estonia as well. I saw this piano at the dealer first, and then I talked to my wife about it. She said she only want polished ebony, not any of the wood finish. After I brought her to see the piano, she said it's nicer than black

It is absolutely stunning!! And my colour, too! So sad not too many of them around. It looks wonderful in your living-room. I wish I had that kind of space for such a beautiful piece of furniture that makes such incredible music! Enjoy!

Congratulation on your new pianos. That pyramid mahogany Estonia piano surely looks beautiful in your house. I saw the pyramid mahogany Estonia 190 at 2009 NAMM show and it was a stunning looking piano and felt in love with it in first sight. I am pretty sure it play beautifully as it looks. Once again, Congratulation to you!!

Any reason why the Germans have done away with this? Did it not sell? Was marketability the only reason? When I asked some of them, they said it was too "gody" bordering on 'kitchy'. It's one of the many areas I happened to disagree with them, but then I have lived in North America for 40 years now. Luckily they never asked me about some of their own space-age designs.... In defence of the German astronautical designs these are beautifully crafted pianos when actually seen in person. Pictures never do them justice - that's for sure. It's perhaps one of theses guys' efforts trying to be a little different from the other guy - having some 10 top makers within close distance has its advantage [downfall?] Having seen the occasional Chinese copy, leaves one wondering if they perhaps didn't also get the attention of some secret admirers from elsewhere... Luckily they never asked me about some of their own space-age designs.... Norbert Seiler did a particularly ugly design, a greyish-silverish grand suspended from a gigantic stand on steel threads with a futuristic and curvy body. I think, they also used it in their ad in the latest edition of the Fine book. I wished they had chosen one of their splendid wood finishes, but instead.....
