Hey, I'm showing my paintings at the Atlanta Arts festival in Piedmont Park this weekend (Sept 12,13) (I leave tomorrow early from Maine).I'm a week on the road so if any of you all live in the area please come by and say hi. I'm feeling lonely already.... smile

A week with no piano is like a .... well like a week with no piano. I'm jonesing already.

Cool. Too bad I'm no where near there, otherwise I'd stop by. I hope the festival goes well.

Hi Peyton,

I don’t think I would be able to visit the festival at Piedmont park, but while you are not at the festival, you are more than welcome to visit my home and play my pianos if you get a chance! I live about 50 miles south of the Atlanta Air Port and about 20 miles south of the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

If it is where you can visit let me know and I’ll give them a fine tuning just for you!! Send me a PM and I’ll give you my phone # and address.

Take care,

Rick

Thanks Rick! I don't think I would have time for that. That would be really fun if I could though. I will get there Thursday night, set up friday and show Sat and Sun then the long journey back to Maine.

Hi Peyton,

Maybe next time….

From what I have heard, the Atlanta fine arts festival at Piedmont Park is a pretty prestigious event. You must be a very good painting artist, as well as a superb blues piano player!!! grin

I wish I could get away and see your paintings at the festival!!!!

Take care!

Rick

Peyton, if you're willing to go all the way to Atlanta for an art show, you can submit to the Woodland Arts Fair in Lexington next summer. You could stay in our garage apartment and play my piano. The only catch is that you'd have to agree to give my daughter and me a private concert. wink

Ooh I wish I could make it... you've probably left already, so I'll have to check online and see what the schedule is like... I'd love to see some paintings and say hi!

BTW - did you say you're DRIVING? From Maine to Atlanta? And back? Yikes... that's a long ways...

Good luck, and if I can get out that way I'll try to find you!

Yea Saerra... the bane of showing work at outdoor art shows is that you have to drive to wherever the show is (shipping a booth, racks, about 35 paintings framed and under glass and three boxes of framed prints on a plane would be impossible unless I owned my own plane). I've done it for so long now 33 years that I just go on automatic, get at least three books on tape and drive... I'm back now and sorry we didn't have a chance to meet.

Monica, I would love to show at the Woodlands Fair. Unfortunately it's in August and my calendar is full with shows I already do. That would be really fun to head out that way and meet the family (and play that beautiful piano!).

Hi Peyton! That makes sense, but still, wow - what a long way to drive (and then to turn around and go back so quickly!)

How did the show go?

I'm sorry that I didn't make it out there! I was swamped this weekend, running around for new piano issues, car issues, and all the normal weekend stuff. frown

Hope you had a good time, and were able to sell some some paintings!

Wow. That's exciting!
I wish I was in GA to see it.
Can you post pictures of your work?

I can't say it was the best show I've ever been to but it went OK. They have some kind of silly rule that they can't allow more than 20,000 people into the park so the attendance was not all that great. Kymber, my work can be seen on my web site www.peytonart.com (or a show near you... smile )

As long as people are suggesting alternative shows, what about Arts in the Park in Richmond or Occasion for the Arts in Williamsburg!

Here's where I get to brag and say that The Far Side of the World (the first painting that comes up when you click on the link to Peyton's website) is now proudly hanging on the wall of my house in my new addition. thumb

Well, Peyton, it looks like playing the piano and composing your own music is not the only thing you are good at!!!

I enjoyed viewing your website! (But I don’t think I can afford any of your paintings! grin)

Take care,

Rick

Pianodad, I'll have to check that Richmond show out. I've heard of it and it's supposed to be pretty good. 450 artists in May. Monica, I meant to tell you that I went on your blog and saw my painting hanging in your house. It really looks great there! That painting used to hang in my piano room and as much as I miss it I'm honored and pleased it is in your beautiful home.

Rickster....Make more money!!! laugh
