Hi all, Still plugging right along. Have begun a new job... gone back into the classroom so for now until classes start, I still have some time to practice. Thanks for the advice!

Thank god for good old pen and paper!. I was just "adding some extra" time to my playtime for today when I realized I had not logged anything on the Practice site in the last 10days!! shocked

Whipped out the notebook and made sure I'm up to date! Man this new work schedule has me going crazy!

Am just joining you all today, as I have just taken delivery of my first piano today at lunch! Have also just played around with Alfreds for an hour, and am having the best day in months! Looking forward to a perfect 4 month run!

Mark,
Please put me onto the "excused" list. I will be gone for 26 days in Sept. to look after an aged and ill relative. I may have the occasional access to a keyboard but I can't be sure. I'm taking my book with me just in case.

Just drop me a note when you are back and good luck with the family.

Hi Mark,

I don't know which list I need to go on, but I could not practice for 3 days this past weekend. We had to evacuate our home because of the Station fire in the Angeles National Forest. We returned home last night after the evac order was lifted, with everything intact, including frayed nerves. The firefighters did an amazing job in really extreme conditions.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark!

I missed a day-- 9/1. I've been on a different schedule due to Ramadhan fasting month, waking up at 4 in the morning before sunrise because in Ramadhan, the fasting 'day' doesn't start until 5am, but technically-- I still missed a day. In Ramadhan, one fasts from sunrise to sunset, with no eating, or drinking, even water-- it really saps energy away in the daytime. I accidentally dozed off last night after having one small meal, but woke up at 3am and practiced before my 'new day' of fasting started.

So am I out? I still plan to practice every day, regardless of this one day, though. smile

Dina.

I've had a spate where I've just not felt like practicing. I think that was brought on by the general busyness that accompanies the beginning of school in my house, accompanied by a low grade sinus infection. MOYD is what got me to the piano every day.

BTW, it's only a couple of weeks until MOYD registration closes for the year. Would anyone else like to join in for the last three months of the year?

Piano self teaching on and off from 2002-2008. Took piano instruction from Nov 2008- Feb 2011. Took guitar instruction Feb 2011-Jul 2013. Can't play either. Living, breathing proof some people aren't cut out to make music.

MOYD kept me going since I signed up this summer, but yesterday I was so exhausted from the week before I slept most of the day and didn't get to the piano!
I'll be back today :-)

I'd like to sign up for MOYD (again) as a late starter. I signed up at the beginning of the year and did great for a while, but then had a surgery & some medication issues, and music fell by the wayside (came 'fessed up a while back).

Now I've been back at the piano for a few months, I'd like the added motivation to keep me practicing every single day, instead of most days/when I feel like it. So please sign me up again.

Please step aside. You're standing in your own way.

During the summer I did really well, even though my piano lessons only go from Sept-June. Unfortunately I missed a couple days whilst visiting my girlfriend etc.
Lessons have started again, and I am 'back' since Sept. 20th.

I've missed a few days this month between work and college loads. Will take time this evening and will do my best to continue through the end of the month. This has a bit difficult due to circumstances, but I am so glad that I can at least take an half hour for some "me time"
Take care all!

OK! I'll sign up. smile Maybe having the MYOD in the back of my mind will make sure I practice every day. Although I've only missed a few days since I restarted lessons in August because of travel, I may get a digital to travel with so I don't miss ANY days. So what exactly are the rules?
