So, now, how was everyone's summer now that it is coming into fall? My summer was very short. July was cold as some of you can attest from attending the PTG convention here in Grand Rapids. We have had very nice weather however for the past 2 weeks. Not to hot, not to cold...

Ugh, already 41 degrees here this morning

I really want to live somewhere warmer. This summer was too short as always. I miss New York! It doesn't seem like a five hour drive would make such a huge difference in the weather, but it really, really does.

Fall has definitely arrived where I am too. Tomorrow night's low is supposed to be 35.

As to the summer, it was long, mostly hot, and humid.

You should try living in England, Jerry - I think our 'summer' lasted for a total of

3 or 4 days.... (spaced out over many weeks !!!).


Seriously - there have been days over here that have started with bright sunshine,

then by the end of the day you've witnessed rain, hail-storms & snowfall!

I'm not touching Horowitzian Jerry!!!! Honest! HOLDING HIM . . .UP maybe! What's this talk about a shot gun WEDDING!
And about that cold beer Jerry, Thanks but I'm kinda . . . busy!

Oh, and today is the LAST DAY of SUMMER! That's scarier than WINTER . . . maybe, and maybe not!

OUCH! I sprained my ankle tearing down the steps when I hit the bottom step. When you going to cover up the nail on that one board anyway???? That hurt! Well, nothing one more beer can't cure right? GULP!

So I invite my "single" piano tuner over to tune my piano! But, I forgot to clean off the piano "just a little"!
So I offers him a drink! WAS I COMING ON A BIT TOO STRONG!

Gees, That's the same lady that says her piano buzzes on a low G# note! Right?

No Scooters. It's the same lady that not only complains about her low "G # STRING" buzzing but, she wears one to not only distract her tuner but she also tries to get him smashed all at once so he'll marry her... Poor feller. I think? Maybe not? Could be a lucky feller! Manhatten anyone?

I bet he gets a 5th for a wedding present! (how about a run of 5ths) Very hard on the dampers.

At that rate, she will not only be hard on her dampers, but will all of that drinking, her head will be ringing after she passes out and lands on the floor. Then, she will be needing diapers too! Oh, I'm so mean! Basement here I come!!!

Gee, that sorta looks like what I was doing Saturday after tuning 6 pianos with NO drinks!

Come right in! Just got a big truckload of beer in this afternoon! You'll need 'em if you tuned 6 pianos in one day!

I had 3 of them to do that were in the same building which was locked. I was given a key card to gain entry. Guess what? It didn't work. Had to drive over to security to get them to send someone over. 20 minutes later I got in. So, I get in just to find the music room doors locked. They are supposed to be open including Sat's. Of course, the keys I had, didn't work for those doors either so, there went another trip back to get security to unlock them and more waiting for them to show up. A total of 1 hour was spent pissing away my time doing that. Then, I told the security guy that all of these music room doors were to be opened so the students could practice. "That was the other security persons job" he said. I said, I see he did his job well so now that leaves you to do it. He opened up the 3 doors that I needed open and left. If it isn't in your job description, and you are security, can't you do it anyway? Guess not. So now I'm working on getting keys to those doors too. Heah!

That sort of thing especially on a Saturday frustrates the heck out of me. I could have been done tuning a whole hour earlier. And yes, I do charge them for time wasted like that.

Then, I drove over to the other building to tune 3 more. I knew where 2 of them were but, they added a piano this year to another room I had not been to before. I walked around this building for 15 minutes and guess what again? The piano was in the very LAST room that I looked in. Figures.

That reminds me of the thing about losing your keys/glasses, whatever.

"I found them in the last place I looked".

..... well it would be the last place you looked, wouldn't it? - you'd hardly carry on

looking once you'd found them, would you? !!!

Dang, Jerry. That sounds like a fine waste of a Saturday, when you aren't even tuning because of someone's laziness.
