A grand that is now nearaly 12 months old and that has Renner Premium Blue hammers.

It is played on average 1 to 2 hrs per day; not all too heavy classical music only.

One tech says it is better to wait at least another 6 months to allow the hammers to be played in more thoughly before starting an overall voicing procedure.

Another one would like like to start right away voicing it.

They both know very well how to voice a piano technically.

I do know myself which few notes are really sticking out of the rest and could describe what I would expect it to sound like overall.

What would you recommend: be patient and perhaps only have it a quick touch up voicing on those 2 or 3 notes that really stick out ....or go ahead right away with a complete voicing procedure done?

schwammerl.

After 12 months, it is okay to voice it. Especially if there are only 1 or 2 notes or so that are bothering you. Often though, once we start voicing, we find there are more than just one or two notes that are off and we wind up voicing a bit more than that.

Some techs put off voicing in the hopes that you will become accustomed to how it sounds and then they won't have to deal with it.

Voice now, and with each tuning if you like.

It's a good thing.

I would call this minor touch up voicing. I assume you don't mean anything more?
