Hello!! This is my first post. Thanks for helping!
I have been without a piano for over 10 years and recently I have finally settled down and I am thinking about buying an upright piano. Probably the Yamaha YUS5. If I had the money I would go for a Sauter or Steinway. Oh well. I live on the state border in NE Connecticut, and there is only one Yamaha dealer around here - Falcetti. So I'm wondering if anybody out here has done business with them, and if you can share anything about your experience. I will need to finance the piano, if I don't want to wait 3 years... laugh I can go to the one in Auburn, MA or Enfield, CT...any advice/suggestions? Are the pianos there overpriced? Do you suggest that I go for a used one? Thanks for helping!

Unless there was a significant track record about Falcetti on PW (which there isn't), the only way to tell is to shop there and post the deal you are offered. We can then compare that with the prices that we have seen around the country.

They also have a store in Rocky Hill. Different locations may have different second lines which you may not have seen yet.

Fry's also sells Yamaha in CT, but that would be a bit of a hike from your area.

Boston Piano and Organ also carry Yamaha's.

I have heard that the YUS5 is rather rare in US by someone who was recently waiting for a long time for one to try. I would call a store to see if one is in stock before traveling.

I also recommend them for thier price point and quality based on the U5 that I played a couple of years ago (now replaced by the YUS5)

I doubt if you would find a used YUS5, but keep an eye out for a U5.

Let us know how you make out.

Wow! Thanks everyone. smile

I called the Falcetti Music in Auburn today a few times but no one was there. On their website they said call for store hours. confused And I left a message. Then I called one of the other branches and the guy said he would call me back. I never heard from either.

But I will definitely call before I would visit. I will also check out Boston Piano - Thanks, lilylady.

Yeah I have been on PianoMart and other used piano sites but no luck with the YUS5 - everybody just sells U1 and U3 but not even U5. I'm hoping it's because they pianos are so good no one wants to sell them laugh

Will keep updating. Thanks again.

I believe they have an exhibit at the "Big E" fairgrounds so the store may be short on staff right now.
