Also, I just looked at Musician's Friend and they're having discounts on certain brands. The Yamaha P85 is going for $429.00, which is the cheapest I've seen it.

Was just in Guitar Center a couple hours ago. Casio PX-130 is marked at $399. Available at that price today. A very few other prices have been lowed a little but nothing like the $100 off on the px133

Also I got mail that Sam Ash is off. They are doing "$150 off on $1,500: or more and similar which amounts to less than 10%. I'm totally un-impressed.

Regarding the PX-130 spotted for $399:

I'm about to buy a PX-130 at the Guitar Center in my town, and the guy is giving me a deal at $425.

Is there a flyer or advertisement for the one in your town I can find online, so I can show him and hopefully get the same deal where I live? (In Oregon?)

If you go to the following link, you will find a coupon for 20% off an order of $500 or more at Music123. It's a sweet deal! It does expire 11-30, though!

Happy shopping!!

If anyone considers this, go to Resellerratings.com first and look up the rating for Music123, then decide.

That is excellent advice. I go there any time I think about buying online.

In this case (music123.com), the rating is HORRIBLE! Of the first 30 feedback listings, 23 were negative. (On a scale of 1 to 5, these 23 buyers gave a 1 rating.)

BEWARE!

wow I thought music123 along with a couple of other guys, wwbw for one, were now owned by Musicians Friend so i wonder what it is about them that's so bad....do the employees drop alot of boxes in the warehouse or something? I think it was wwbw who had the 20% off any item on labor day but when i called back to place the order they were actually closed, the customer service there isn't 24 hours, so i called Musicians friend and asked if they'd match that current 20% off and they did. So if someone wanted the P155 and it 20% that would be $960 and it couldn't hurt to call another store and ask if they'd match if you were for some reason afraid of some place's rating from that site.

Have the local sales guy call the store. No flier just a price tag on the product. Many times GC has items marked "Only in California". It is VERY competive here with music store literally only a few miles apart all over So. Cal. So it might be they drop prices lower in very competitive markets, I don't know but I do know the GC is good with price matching +10%

I don't understand GC's prices. On the same rack there as a CDP100 for the same $399 price and a PX120 for $499. Who would buy either of those when the PX130 is $399?

A few weeks ago I bought a flute from Music123. Transaction went fine. Prompt shipping and they had the best price.

My guess is that 99% of the time they might be OK.

Guitar Center will not only match prices but offers 10% of the difference. So you can do even better than Music123 price

I ordered a YDP160 from Music123 on 11/26 on got a tracking number 2 days later. I read somewhere that since it's owned by the same company as WWBW, Guitar Center, Musician Friend and some others, it gets shipped from the same warehouses. Got the YDP160 with 20% off for $1079.

Ok, some Cyber Monday sales, though nothing remarkable:

Amazon has the Casio PX130 for under $450, which is the cheapest I've seen it on that site, but may not be a Cyber Monday sale
http://www.amazon.com/Casio-PX-130-...nstruments&qid=1259600805&sr=8-2

Here's Amazon's Cyber Monday page
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Friday-...amp;pf_rd_p=501792131&pf_rd_i=507846

Woodwind & Brasswind is having 15% off everything sale for today only
http://www.wwbw.com/

Guitar Center is having a $50 off on everything over $349, but for certain brands only. I did not see Casio, Yamaha, Korg, or Kurzweil in there, so you might want to use this on DP accessories.

Just a report: I called up my local Guitar Center a few days before Black Friday asking if they could hold a PX-130 for me so I could pick it up Friday and use their 15% off coupon from that day. The guy said he couldn't do that but he'd just give me 15% off and he'd hold one for me, Black Friday or no. So I paid about $425.

So... any of you considering Guitar Center, seems like it's worth just asking for a discount, whether it involves a coupon or special or not.

(That being said, provantage.com has the PX-130 for $390. I tried to get Guitar Center to match that price but they wouldn't do it since it's backordered on Provantage's site. But their price-matching is retroactive for 30 days, so if Provantage gets it back in stock, I'll have to call up Guitar Center...)

I was at a Guitar Center before Black Friday and the saleman quoted me a price of $899 for a YDP140. I didn't want to take the deal because I didn't want to pay taxes. Seems like they will take 15% off when ever they want to get the sales.

Based on some of the comments that have come in this thread and others, you didn't have to wait for Black Friday or even Cyber Monday (today) to get yourself a deal. With the lousy economy, pushing the right buttons and wheeling and dealing with the right place could get you 15 to 20 percent or more off a piano. I guess the moral to the story is you just have to be willing to try to wheel and deal. What do you have to lose?

Your self respect and dignity or the illusion one lives in a modern economy with a functioning price mechanism?

I bought a PX-130 from GC on Friday. It was listed at $499 and the salesman discounted it 10% to $450 based on the 110% price match (to any number of sites selling it for $499). I also donated a can of food in the store which gave me a 10% off coupon bringing it to $399 plus tax.

I felt like it was a pretty good deal.
