Hi All, Although I haven't played piano for a while, I did take a couple of years worth of lessons a while back. I want to start playing again. I already own an nice Baby Grand Piano, which I've had for about 5 years. Although, I love my baby grand, I've always had a keyboard or synthesizer to practice on. I hook it up to my computer and learn how to play pieces, or piano lessons, etc. Anyway, I have about $300 to spend and a new keyboard, and I can't make up my mind whether to go with the Yamaha DGX220 or the Casio WK3300, they both cost $299.00 The last time I owned a keyboard was about 6 years ago, and at the time the Yamaha keyboards sounded much better, I don't think that is the case any more. I need some advice as to which keyboard to go with, since I already on a real piano, weighted keys are not something I need. One advantage I see the WK3300 has over the DGX220 is that it comes with an SD slot. I am looking to buy one today . Any feed back is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you're after an actual acoustic piano feel/play then neither will do. Casio Privia PX110 has a nice weighted action and good sounds, but that's more like $399. It does have MIDI in/out so you can have it hooked up to a computer and that means options are quite extensive. It's really worth the extra dollars. I wouldn't loose much sleep over the SD card option, unless this is something you think you can't do without. I have the Yamaha DX205 (the older brother of the DX220). It's a nice keyboard and you can sure have lots of fun with it. But if your intent is to build a good piano technique, it's almost a waste of time.

This is a very old thread, but the fact is I'm in the same scenario than jsalzer1979. I'm trying to decide between the DGX 220 and the WK3300. The Casio looks more complete on features, also includes the SD option and keys are nicer, but haven't read much more about it which I did regarding the DGX 220... I'm a very ocasional player. I love keyboards, always played using my music sensations and ears...never went to a piano/keyboard teacher, which I did for my violin, because without lessons it's impossible to learn how to play it.
Please help!
