Not 100% shure if this is the right place to post my topic but, any way. I'm a begginner, played activly for about 6 month's. And a few songs I'v learned are: fur elise, go the distance, braveheart theme song, requiem for a dream, and to zanarkand which is my favorit by far. + a lot of other "lesser songs" like coldplay;clocks and songs like that. The reason for why I am posting her is becuse I want some ny piano songs I can learn. Right now 'im working on Comptine d'un autre été: l'après midi. but I need some others as well. I really like songs like to zanarkand a great great song! It has something more to offer than just a melody its telling a story if you understand what i mean. its just the same with Naruto sorrow and sadness. Her's a link to very good version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpcDaPbeV5IHope some of you has some great songs I can learn. I'm struggeling with playing 2 different melodies if they are at different tempo but I'm shure I'll be able to play soon aswell. Thx!

I`m not sure what type of song you like Aleksander but if you like 19th century songs just learn Schubert`s Lieder. He composed over 500 songs, most of them very meaningful and about all sorts of topics, from love to fish, trout, beer, etc.
They are really great after a meal with friends recreating the atmosphere of that time..................if you find any one sober enough to play and sing...............

I think it's regrettable that empty User Profiles have practically become the norm here. Nobody has to disclose their birth date, but it sure would be nice to know something about people that would shed some light on where they're coming from, especially newcomers.

Sorry Aleksander, Schubert has been dead for 181 years only...............
There is another forum in Pianoworld dedicated to modern music, this one is mainly classical, most composers here are stiffs now........

I i'm not thrilled about this guy's music or I dont know if i have any thing to suport that but of the 2 3 songs i heard from him i did not find any thing that i really liked. i like classic stuff. But just havent found any classic melody that i like yet.

Perhaps, Aleksander ness, if you are not particularly interested in classical music, you should post your question in the Non-Classical forum rather than here where the emphasis is on classical music.
The reference to Schubert, by the way, one of the great song-writiers of the 19th century, was undoubtedly prompted by the fact that you call the piano pieces you are looking for "songs." In the world of classical music the word "songs" refers to compositions which are sung by voice(s). Compositions for piano are called pieces or compositions, not songs.
Regards,

Thx for that. Hm both yes and no, I will ask in the other forum for more non classical pieces. And on the other hand i hoped i could get some names on som classic compositions. But classical music what is it really, just pieces from bach betoven and so on ore can you have more modern clasical pieces? I'd like a few names on some compositions. Just to hear some of it, I think i like it but not shure:P I'm not easy to deal with:L Thx for the replays people!!

Hi Aleksanderness, we both like To Zanarkand and "Comptine.." (they're on my wish list of pieces to play eventually - might try playing them this weekend). Are you sure you don't like any other Final Fantasy compositions? I like "Suteki da ne," "the way of purgation," "Cosmo Canyon," "those who fight," and "J-E-N-O-V-A." All from FFVII/X
How about "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" by Michael Nyman, piano solos by David Nevue or Ludovico Einaudi?
