When an overseas client requested a replica of a 1902 Steinway piano, Steinway partnered with Master Wood Carver Dimitrios Klitsas of Hampden, MA to create this masterpiece.

Through a process that took over a year, Klitsas pored over Steinway's archives and did the intricate design and wood carving free-hand for the whole piano. Once completed the piano was brought back to New York and sent to Rochester, NY where all the gold leafing and painting was done.

Very Strange.
I started a thread a while back with the same title.

And I see the picture you are using is from my photobucket.

I have the moderators looking at Zphorumz's other posts.

I see problems. If so, we'll nip them in the bud.

Consider the bud nipped, I've banned him. He was reposting old posts across the forum, presumably to promote his web site.

Beautiful, very special piece of art for sure!

Today I became aware of another 'piece' very different yet in a strange way, very similiar to the above: totally handcarved in solid rosewood. To be honest, wasn't exactly my cup of tea but the beast was brand new and took a couple of years to make.

Sold for $ 350,000 last week....

Thanks for sharing -let's sometimes enjoy the rare and precious!
