If you read my "Where In the World" story in our October Newsletter you know I've purchased a fixer-upper in Florida. I'd like to cover one wall with old sheet music (think decoupage). If you have some old sheet music in reasonbly good shape (not stained, no mildew) and are willing to donate it to the cause (cause I don't have any money) I'd really appreciate it. I'm looking primarily for sheet music that is complete with the cover. Any era is fine (I like all kinds of music). If you can help out your Piano World Founder/Host, please send the music to: Frank Baxter Piano World 9925 Ulmerton Road # 227 Largo, FL 33771 Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, in the 80-ties I was working in P.R. with a Bassplayer called Bob Bauer. He had the first Realbook ever, he told me. It was a collection of Jazztunes, published in the very old Downbeat publications. I did get for personal purpose only several pages of this outstanding collection. Here is an example. www.cisum.info/oldrealbook.jpg

Antique stores have plenty - but they want more than a dime. I paid 3 bucks for a long sought-after "Mother, at they Feet is Kneeling". Brought back memories of my first piano teacher who had the kid ahead of me learning this. (Dates me, i Know...)

The place was a complete disaster when we started (and it smelled as bad as it looked). Here's some BEFORE Pictures The bottom of the page has a link to the progress pictures. Still have work to do, but coming along.

Where did you get that G clef pillow on the bed? Needlepoint? Made by a friend? Know where I can get the chart? Thanks.

What a pleasant place you've made of that house! Although I'll have to admit to getting a kick out of the "office" picture One can't, at the minute, walk in my living room Cathy

You're right about the office though, still working through organizing that mess :-)

good luck Frank
estate sale companies that have clearing house storefronts for their leftover wares also might be a good resource.
i recently saw a 3 part folding roompartition screen covered with Beethoven scores.. it looked really cool. definitely homemade but excellent.

p.s. just saw the whole before/after series of photos. what a lot of work!!!! but inspiring what you can do in a short time to a problematic living space.
did you hire out most of the work or do it yourself? Hi Pique', Kathy and I did a lot of the work ourselves (she's very handy with tools and ideas). I hired her nephew to do most of the trickier carpentry (including ripping out and replacing the kitchen wall). Still a work in progress, but coming together now. How was your NY book/movie event?
