re: spelling :

As for Rachmaninoff: when you look up his listing in Groves, you are greeted with : "Rachmaninov [Rachmaninoff], Sergey. See Rakhmaninov, Sergey."

Prokofiev, Sergey (Sergeyevich) is given without any alternate spelling of the family name.
