Just bought my first Piano. I have always wanted to play, and own a piano. After much research and posts here, Me and my partner purchased a Kawai GM10K. I have read many posts about them and the mixed reviews. With that being said, it is the one we liked the best to our un trained ears, and the price was right. It comes on Saturday. Can not wait.

Does anyone know of a teacher here in Orlando. I have been looking and googled it, but with no luck. Andy advice on interviewing a teacher. Finding the right one, and do they get upset when you ask them questions about how they teach and what it is I'm looking to learn. This is a hobbie for me so just want to be able to play some fun stuff, no classic for me. Just not my thing. Maybe at some point i will learn to love it.

Looking forward to learning and hearing from everyone on Piano World.

Hi,

Congratulations on your new piano! The Kawai GM 10 is a nice one!

There is a member here who posts on occasion, “Rocket88” who is a professional piano teacher and also plays professionally. He is in the Florida area, not sure exactly where. He’s an exceptional pianist at all styles of music and he’s an excellent guy!!

Send him a PM and see if he can assist you.

Take care,

Rick

Congratulations on the Kawai and welcome to the forum.

You can check with your local music stores for an instructor. Stores often have a list of instructors who are accepting new students. You might also check out the musicians section of your local Craig's List, and even post a request for piano teacher to get some recommendations.

Good luck!

What are your goals / objectives? Different training materials may be appropriate. There are some VERY lengthy threads on the Alfred books in this forum.

You might also ask for recommendations in the Piano Teacher's Forum.

Ask everyone one you know if they know a teacher and I mean everyone you know. I found mine by doing this and it took over a month.

Hi. Have you found a piano teacher in Orlando yet? If not I'm in South Orlando (Hunter's Creek). If interested, call me at (321) 206-8368 - Frank

BTW, I can teach most any method. The most important is that I suit my style with what you're comfortable.
