Hello! I have two options available right now in the used piano market. One is Roland ep. 85 which costs about $450 while Casio PX 555R costs $500.

I only know that Roland ep. 85 is a weighted keys with touch response and Casio one is a weighted scaled hammer action keys with touch response too.

Can anyone give me the recommendation about these two digital pianos and which one should I go for? I only want it to be feeling like a real piano...i don't use extra functions. I have searched DP for almost an year due to teh bughet constraints and thus I see this is a precious opportunity.

I'm not familiar with the Roland ep.85. However, the Casio PX555R is the model before the current PX575R. The asking price of $500 is high given the fact that you could buy a PX 575R for $599 USD new. The PX575 has the 3 layer ZPI sound source which is better than the HL sound source in the PX555. If you want a basic DP you could check out the PX130 which retails for $499 USD and you could likely find one of these for under $499 on sale. These have a 4 layer sampled piano sound and are quite nice sounding.

That Roland is 12 years old. Technology moves fast. It's still a usfull piano but in my opinion the new models are worth paying more for.

Why is it that sellers ask these prices? The older generation of DPs are really not as good as the new ones. On the Casio side a brand new "120" sells for $500. and it comes with a warranty. $50 off or 20% off deals are frequent so it's easy to find a new Casio for $400 or $450.

These are "asking prices". I'm sure if you wait and the seller sees it is not selling the price will come down. Used DPs are like used computers. The selling price of a used DP should not be based on what the unit sold for new, years ago, but on what the price of an equivalent new DP would sell for.
