I have a client that wishes to put a nice quality piano on his small 130ft yacht. Besides a damp chaser system can anyone help elaborate on the care and precaution that should be taken for maintaining this piano. Taking in consideration the high amount of humidty and exposure to salty sea air I'm sure there are more prudent measures that can be taken in addition to the damp chaser.

Your help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

This should help with moisture and any airborne issues, and it would be the first thing I would buy if I lived near the ocean, or in this case, on the ocean, after the Damp-Chaser. Keeping in mind, that even with the Damp-Chaser and a string cover, there is still going to be some effect on the strings and piano action and metal parts, being that close to salt water.

The Edwards String Cover. It covers the whole insides of the piano, http://www.edwardsstringcovers.com/ and will help with the moisture and the inevitable saltwater in the air from coming in contact with the wound bass strings and the solid strings.

I would advise having a permanent technician on board....

The regular tunings should involve a cleaning polishing of the strings and an inspection of any area where dissimilar metals contact each other, this is where the galvanic action from the salty sea air will do the most harm. If the piano can be put in an enclosed area that has dehumidifier it will help. There was a trend years ago to install a cathodic protection devices to the plate on pianos near oceans and on some cruise ships. Don't bother falling for this if anyone suggests it, they will not work on objects like pianos or cars and some countries have outright banned the sale of them for this reason.

I went to sea for 24 years. My first thought is to secure it to the vessel's structure (not the paneling). If this is an upright, bolt right to the back posts. A 130 ft vessel is a size that can roll much more than expected in a chop.

I heard the cruise ship tuners down here keep an extra set of strings on the boat for breakages. Expect lots of string breakage when the strings succumb to salty air.
