I've been using one of those stage X stands for the last week since i got the P-155 but not only is it too high (30,5" key height off ground at lowest setting) but i don't feel good about how it supports the keyboard on the bottom but not on the rubber legs. So I was looking to get the yamaha stand.(listed for the P140 but also the same one for the P155) I debated a little about how it would limit the portability but decided i wouldn't be lugging the piano around the house all that much anyway. Almost everywhere has a price of $119 but i found one place that has them for $99.95 so thought i'd give them a mention because of the good deal and also because they're not a huge shop like MF and they also gave me free shipping without having to add 5 cents to my cart! They do have a decent webpage though so i wouldn't say they're fly by night by any means...family owned and operated, based in vermont, friendly and helpful when i ordered over the phone to see about the free shipping thing. Named Contois Music and like i said already $99.95 if anyone is looking for the stand for the P-155. I think they currently just have the black one in stock, but thast's the one i was looking for.

You're welcome. ---I'm loving the P155. I did like the Privia PX330 i had and returned; a couple of the keys started clicking together from touching which i realized was apparently due to a combination of 1)these two keys being a tad closer bcause of the slightly bigger 'set' spacing right at the middle of the keyboard and 2) a little wiggle potential with the keys in general. The Yamahas, the 2 I've had now anyway, have very stable keys which are not prone to 'side wiggle. ---so my key problem was not the one others have been talking about but still an issue with the keys on the privia that is.

There was alot i liked about the casio but with the yamaha a few of those things are just a little better which can make quite a bit of difference. The weighted action is not as heavy with the yamaha as on the casio. In some ways this heavy weighted action gave the casio somewhat of a realistic feel but maybe just a liitle too heavy. The Yamaha is not perfect and i suppose you can still detect some of that digital quality but the casio had more of a harsh edge, as someone desribed it. Still the main piano sound on the casio was really quite good and again the yamaha is probably just a tad better, but without that harsh edge anyway and that can mean alot. The extra sounds on the Yamaha are quite good, especially the harpsichord. On the casio they were all somewhat disapointing. Also on the yamaha you can layer any 2 voices with the push of those two buttons, on the casio only limited layering which is something of a moot point because the extra sounds weren't that great to begin with so you didn't really want to layer anyway. The yamaha is really just smoother at going from softer to louder and being able to express these differences in volume. Kind of too bad i had the key clicking problem with the casio though because for someone like me who's learning and although I'm moving along allright i still tend to need to play phrases seemingly countless times to sometimes get them; I wouldn't mind having a second keyboard i could use to hack at with my practice routines and if i could have gotten a back-up p130 for 400 (going price during a sale) I wouldn't have minded; but with my experience with the keys now i'd be afraid to.

Of course the way to maximize either of these DPs is with good headphones, (or a sound system i suppose) and not so much with the onboard speakers.

Yep sounds about right. I do "love" the P155 (I have a P140 now) I'm going to maybe try to sell it between now & Xmas and pick up a used (Craigslist/?) P33 since I've played with that in the shops and I very much enjoyed it..

Do they ship to Canada? So far music123 and musicfriend doesn't ship the P-155 to Canada. I am beginning to think that all American websites are bounded by this law. Sigh..

I know it says on the MF site that they now ship to Canada but some exclusions apply. Yamaha is one of those exclusions.

I got a surprising deal on the L-140 stand a few weeks ago. I called the Guitar Center near me, asked if they had any in stock, and was told, "Yes, and we're getting rid of them. We've marked them down to $40."

She said it was because they didn't have the keyboards. Strange -- I had just bought a P-155 there a few days earlier. Maybe they figured that the L-140 only fit the P-140, and with the P-140 discontinued, it meant the stands had to go?

Weird. I didn't question it, though. Am I allowed to say which GC it was, just in case they have any left at that price? (I doubt they do, but maybe someone wants to try?)

wow it does sound like what you're saying is true with them mistaking the stand for a close-out item. Even now if you look up these stands it seems to ust list it as the stand for the P-140 with a couple of places then mentioning it's also for the P155 as well. --So probably just at your Guitar Center, in Georgia? Good for you though!

I bought my P120 from Guitar Center in Connecticut. Its stand is ugly and bad. Many people do not buy the stand. They buy the digital piano alone, leaving the stands in the stock. If you want my stand, please, pay for the shipping cost. I will send it to you without additional charge.
Here is the picture I made the stand myself with best materials from Home Depot. The total cost is about 120 dollars: 4 hinges, 8 sets of screws, 2 large and longh planks of woods, a pair planks of wood for 2 legs, and a pair of planks of wood for 2 feet, wood glues to put feet into legs, sand papers, and varnish. The stand can be assembled and disassembled manualy in few minutes. The original stand by Yamaha is not designed for portable stand.
