Touch: The Toccata Project
Post-1900 Piano Toccatas
Volume I: American Composers
Philip Amalong, piano

The result of a recording and performance project of selected piano toccatas by North American composers.

The recording, released November 10, 2009 by Albany Records, features twenty toccatas including world premiere recordings of toccatas by George Antheil, Lee Hoiby, Vincent Persichetti, James Bastien, Leo Sowerby, and a toccatina composed by Mark Louis Lehman for the project.

What if Cuccho is Philip Amalong? Advertising, yes, but his recordings also. Would that be a grey area?

Perhaps the amount of grey could be reduced if he didn't link to a purchase site, but instead had only talked in a friendly way to the forum about how he had produced a new album of Toccatas that might interest people.

It would also have helped if Cuccho had developed relationships here before springing an album on people this way. Many fine young pianists use this site to help raise their visibility a bit and I don't think that bothers too many people. Quite to the contrary, in fact. Though how you do it does matter.

I'm sorry. I was told this was a good forum to present information about the project, but I see and understand from the above posts that I did this improperly. It was posted in haste to share a recording I'm excited about without knowing the nature of the community.
