I'm trying out different keyboards and deciding what I might buy before Christmas. I have been playing several keyboards at Guitar Center, usually running through KRK or Yamaha powered monitors. I have played the Nord Stage 88, the Roland series, Yamaha stage pianos, newer Casio Privias but I also have 2 of those now, and the Korg M50 88.
My main influence on what to buy is I only want an 88 weighted keyboard with a great acoustic piano sample, Rhodes and organs. I don't care about brass or strings because I have several MIDI sound modules that can cover those samples. Also, I want a kb that is easy to pack for gigs and weighs under 50 lbs.
The keyboard that I really like is the Korg M50 88 weighted model. The M50 also comes in a 61 and 73-76 key series. The acoustic piano samples sound really great and the board has touch screen technology as well as being a workstation, actually many more features that I need, but the action on the M50 88 is excellent.
Has anyone here tried out the M50 or bought one? If so, how is it working out? Please let us know what you think
