Hello,

I really need to URGENTLY take a decission between these pianos for my son to start classes and myself:

1988 Bechstein 116cm (45') model. It looks like the 12n, but it has 3 pedals and the 12n is 114 tall and the dealer says this one is 116. Not sure about this last point, but it does sound powerful for its tiny size. Looks like new and is sold by the boesendorfer official dealer. 5700 EUR

2003 Zimmermann Z1. Also from a very reputated dealer. Like new. 6000 EUR

NEW YUS 1 for 6800 EUR

NEW YUS 5 for 8000 EUR

I also can get a
2000 KAWAI RX-3. 9000 EUR directly from owner that needs to relocate to the other side of the Atlantic.

If I get an upright it will go into a 10m2 room(about 90 sq.feet) where I can place my digital which can be great for classes (2 pianos side by side)
If I go for the grand, I have to place it in the living room, 55m2 (about 500 sq.feet)

I like the sound of them all, also the touch, I want the best possible piano that might lose less value in 5-10 years in case one of us really gets into it and want to upgrade.

About the grand being probably the clearly best piano (even a couple of dealers trying to sell the other pianos told me to go for it if I had such an offer for it. but I feel a bit overwhelmed by the idea of having a grand to start with. Isn't a bit too much for a house where nobody can yet play anything beyond Chopsticks?!
Also, I really think having the digital by the acustic in a small room where to study is a nice option.
I want to add that my son is barely 3yo, and will start the Suzuki method.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE.

It's natural to think about beginning with an instrument that you think matches the players' abilities, but you have the good fortune of being offered a great price on a grand that you like.

Digitals are good for silent practicing. DP's can also be connected to a computer on which you've stored music notation software and, perhaps, a software piano.

If you can afford both, get both and place them in the appropriate rooms.
