We have taken the advice given to us in an earlier post, and started looking for either a new Kawai RX-2 or RX-3. The Piano Buyer book is great and given insight into the voodoo surrounding piano prices. So just one more reality check before we pull the trigger: Does $16K for a new RX-2, or $22K for a new RX-3 sound reasonable? (black, brand new, delivered, etc.) These quotes sound very good to us, but we've never bought a new piano before so we are a bit nervous about it.

Those prices are certainly very reasonable. It would be tough to do better.

Do you like the dealer?

If you love the piano, are satisfied with the dealer's service, and can afford the piano, GO FOR IT!

And get the largest one you can comfortably afford.

Just curious, are they the RX Blak series or the RX-H series? Not that it really matters, but those prices are good for the RX-H series and EXTREMELY good for the RX Blak series.

Thanks for your thoughts. We do like the dealer. I don't know about the difference between the RX Blak or RX-H, though.

It sure helps to have you all to bounce this off of- a piano is a big purchase for us and with all the mysticism about pricing we appreciate your help.
