I like the Gryaznov. It's simpler, more musical, and (though I could be wrong about this, since I've never heard the original) sounds closer to Rachmaninoff's true intentions. I think Volodos is a brilliant transcriber (his arrangement of the slow movement from the Rach. cello sonata is high on my list of all-time favorites), but this one sounds a bit too much like Horowitz improving on a Godowsky transcription of a Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody. Start to finish, it's all pyrotechnics and not much music. Can't say I got very far with the Yaschevith, since I have no taste at all for accordion music. What do you think?

I like the Gryaznov for the same reasons you do. Also, that transcription varies the tempo more than the Volodos which is just fast all the time.
