Registered and read the forums probably about 2 years ago when beginning the search for a piano. As absolute amateurs we were totally unprepared for the search and the options available to us. After asking many questions and looking at various pianos in our valley (and totally bypassing one local store due to some shenanigans they played on this forum), we dropped out of the market while our 10 YO son started lessons on a $200 keyboard to see if he would take to it. Well, he did! His piano teacher said he's ready for a real piano, so we went back to see Rick Baldassin. This time we drug my Sister-in-law along for her opinion. It only took about 3 bars after she sat down at the Estonia and started playing for her to stop and say this is a great piano. She confirmed what many of y'all have said, so today I bit the proverbial bullet and put the down payment down on a new baby.
Estonia 168 in Pyramid Mahogany Hidden Beauty.
Details on the financials are still TBD, so we're not sure how soon she'll be in our front room, but sooner is better than later.
Thanks to Dave Marsden who worked with us when we were first looking (but has since left the business), to Cindy and Rick for their patience with amateurs, and to Shotzy the dog for making me feel at home in the showroom.

Congrats! I'm curious about "Pyramid Mahogany Hidden Beauty". Since this is a "Hidden Beauty", does it mean only the inside surface of the piano is furnished with pyramid mahogany veneer, while the outside surface is ebony polished? Picture will be great when you got your piano

Picture will be great when you got your piano Yes, Ebony on the outside, Pyramid Mahogany on the inside and the underside of the fallboard. Pictures when I can, but it will be at least a week. I was informed by SWMBO (She Who Must be Obeyed) that the room the piano is going into must be painted first, and she hasn't even picked out a color yet. Additionally she wants curtains, artwork and a new rug, plus the carpets cleaned. Since my job takes me away for days at a time, this will be a juggling act of getting everything accomplished I did not know about.

Ha, been there, done that The difficulty we face in choosing the right piano is nothing in comparison to the turmoil involved in choosing a paint color. Just smile and say "I like that one too." Seriously, though, for the men amongst us--thank god for our better halves or our pianos would not look nearly as good as they do!

It's funny how buying a piano can motivate a person to spruce up a room. We moved into our current house a year before we bought our current piano. I replaced most of the old light fixtures right away, but put off replacing the ceiling fan in the piano room because I really didn't want to drag out the 12' ladder and do the work. So the light fixture that we had bought as the replacement just sat in our garage for a year. Then, a few days before taking delivery of the new piano I finally was motivated to replace the light. The curtains went too and I finally hung some of my paintings which had been sitting in our storage room for a year. Now if only I could get around to painting the walls.

she should have the room painted pyramid mahogany.
the 168 (the best piano ever) is the most important item in the house and everything should match.
just my opinion.

pyramid mahogany hardwood floors....that would be nice (though it would probably cost more than your piano!)

Finally got her delivered today. I must say it sounds even better in the room than the show room. She takes a spot front and center as one of the first things you see as you enter the house. Front door is just left out of frame. Now we are searching for the right art work to compliment the piano.

Wow! Very nice. Pyramid mahogany indeed! I think the wood pattern looks even nicer under dim light at night, as it would appear to have a warm reddish glow. The paint color matched the piano very well!
Congrats again!
