Hey there folks,

So I've been kicking this idea around in my head ever since I was lucky enough to attend the Book Signing (circa NAAM) party almost 1.5yrs ago.

Sheryl & I would like to have a Piano Party in SoCal and meet like minded Pianoworld / Piano folks. Of course the Holidays are upon us in December and we totally understand that the month fills up quick.

The following were dates we were kicking around with. What does everyone think? Would you like to come hang out and meet other like minded Piano folks?

December possible dates
  • Friday December 11th
  • Sunday December 13th
  • Saturday December 19th
  • Sunday December 20th
We'll provide some "platter type" appetizers and soft refreshments. You're welcome to "bring your own drinks" since we don't actually drink much but please remember to drink responsibly should you do..

We can of course pick a date but wanted to gauge interest and also availability before doing so. I hope we can make this a regular (QTRLY?) event and perhaps even begin to "tour" the homes & Pianos (Acoustic / Digital) making new friends along the way..

"Cheers"
Steve & Sheryl
ps: and yes we'll make another "Piano Cake" smile

Steve & Sheryl,

That's great!

Always happy to see new piano parties form, and SoCal is one of my favorite spots in the country. I used to work for McGraw-Hill (publisher) and often visited their Carlsbad office. Been to a few parties in LA, San Juan Capistrano, etc.

I wish we could come.

Now if you decided to have one in January, say around Saturday January 16th we'd be there!

The big annual NAMM show in Anaheim runs Jan. 14-17 this year.
NAMM Show Thread

We will be there as will all the major piano manufacturers along with manufacturers, vendors, and distributors of every instrument imaginable.

As you might guess many of our members work in the business, and lots of them attend the show (as exhibitors or attendees).

Something to think about:-)

Either way, thanks so much for hosting a piano party.
I'll mention it in our newsletter.

Please remember to take pictures, like this one, Cape Code Party this Summer

Frank,

Agreed but how to people attend since it's closed to public smile (hint hint). Perhaps we'll throw it in Jan depending on the feedback / confirms on the possible party for December..

19th is a good possibility. 13th is an alternate possibility, but depends on whether my son's soccer playoff games. Later in the afternoon/evening is more likely, and also depends on where you are.

So far, the dates Frank mentioned in Jan looks real good good because of the long weekend.

Cheers!

Can't do the Jan date since I'll be in England for my daughters 16th Birthday party shocked

I'm thinking we'll shoot for the 19th and will update stuff this week with details. We're located in Eastvale (Corona) which is out in Riverside County just off the 15 and Limonite..

Speaking of Southern California, and piano parties in SoCal, is there anyone out there around east L.A. county that would be interested in playing 4-hand music? I'd love to come to a party, but am way too shy to play alone! I'm new to this forum, so sorry if this topic has already been covered elsewhere. If it has, please steer me in the right direction.

OK not to want to sound "needy" (too late) lol but did everyone see this? Thus far I have 1 conformation so I'm hoping we get some more so as not to have to cancel my 1st Piano Party... thumb

TTig,

I missed this thread. Hopefully you can schedule another. I couldn't have made this one anyway, that's the day of my teacher's recital.

Is there another Piano Party planned in 2010? I belatedly read about it recently, and will now come to this Forum regularly to keep in touch. I am very new at this computer communication thing, and my previous submission to TTigg seems to be floating out there in cyberspace. I would love to attend a Piano Party, anywhere in So. Calif. and meet other piano lovers.

No worries Carol, I will be attempting to throw another one in Jan. Of course if I can tie it in with the NAMM dates that would be perfect. However I may be in Vegas on those dates attending a seminar.

Will update this or a new thread as soon as I know thumb

Happy New Year!

Many of you who were looking forward to this event may be interested in the new Long Beach Piano Meetup group that's coalescing as we speak. Please see my post in this forum, or go directly to http://www.meetup.com/Long-Beach-Piano-Meetup-Group/.
Hope to see you there!
