Inspired by Jamerz, I have finally started working on this piece. I have wanted to play it for a long time. I have the rapid chromatics sounding nice and ferocious, but the Little Red Riding Hood parts aren't getting faster. Even with my 5321 fingering, Little Red Riding Hood is sauntering through a flowery meadow, not running from the wolf. Any suggestions?

5231 DEFINITELY better than 5321, especially if your hands are not extra large.

I don't play this piece, but what about sometimes practicing with the pairs of notes played both at once? (that is, try 5-2 at the same time and then 3-1 at the same time)

I actually found the 5 32 1 to feel much better than the 5 23 1 and my hands are kinda chubby. I think it just takes a bit more practice. I was on the same boat a little while back but I have been hacking away at it and i can play the "running" nearly as fast as Valentina herself! I was so intimidated that I actually started learning the march right after I learned the chromatic octave runs, rather than the "running" Anyways, I'm glad my thread inspired you and hopefully I will inspire you to keep practicing! And just do whatever fingering works for you. :]
