Not at all, as I've fallen of the wagon several times. But I've only missed a total of 7 days this year all considering, which has been very inspiring! I know the progress I've made is as a result of holding myself accountable like this. smile

Afraid I have to 'fess up. I missed a few days, count me out this year. I'll try again in 2010!

So, I do need to report two excused absences. I had a business trip to Prague in October and, try as I might (and I did) to find a piano the first day I got there, just for a few minutes of playing, I had no luck. Prague may be a city of music, but all the music stores I found were for stringed instruments. After a couple of days, I did find a Petrof store, but I didn't have time to stop by and my Czech hosts were kind enough to get a keyboard for me (I felt a bit like a (male) prima donna, demanding a piano...:D).

Holidays will get me everytime.

I was out of town for Thanksgiving weekend and didn't end up getting a chance to play last Saturday. All was not lost, however. I did get a chance to see my dad for the first time in over a year, and we were able to take in the Cleveland Orchestra with Jonathan Biss on the piano playing Mozart's 9th.

What a wonderful performance.

I'm back on the wagon now. I will admit up front, getting practice time in during Christmas will be another challenge.

Good luck everyone with the remainder of the year!

I was thinking of doing MOYD next year, only because I normally practice every day anyway. I have a question. I work 12.5 hour shifts, and an hour's commute either way. On days or nights I work I generally collapse into bed and get up next day just in time to get to work, on it goes. There is no practice, but I do try to listen to jazz while travelling. Is there a MOYD exemption for this?

To stay in MOYD you need to play every day. Excuses for sickness and other life events will move you to the excused list. MOYD is very forgiving, but the key is still to practice daily.

I believe I have MOYD up to date. Please check your status and let me know if any adjustments need to be made...

My graphics person will hopefully have the new MOYD sigs ready by late December...

Thanks...Mark...

My most recent missed day was on Thanksgiving. I did manage to make it to some piano stores on that Friday though. (May be the one type of store not to get mobbed on Black Friday.)

I do play every day when I'm home but the trips away are pretty difficult. smile

I finally have some free time to play!! Grad school is over until January ( my last class!!!) and work will end in two days, unless we get a lot of snow!
Happy Holidays everyone and stay safe and warm with all of this rough weather, North of where I reside.

I had one more vacation in June, but it doesn't change my status any.

One of these days I'd like to make the "Pure MOYD" list, but "Excused MOYD" is a nice accomplishment in its own right. smile

Hi Mark,

Please put me on the MOYD list for 2010 when it gets started. I only began piano last May so missed this year's list (although I don't think I've missed any days).

MOYD 2010 OR BUST! thumb

Thanks,

Jim

Count me in too !
However, my "away from home" will be more like a "return at home" (but a home without piano unfortunately...)
