#1320747 - 12/07/09 11:11 PM Looking for MIDI Controller w/ Roland RD-700GX-like feel...

Hello all, first post!

I am looking for s MIDI controller. I do not need a synth or an arranger - I have a Mac for that.

While I love the Roland RD-700GX, the price is very, very out of my reach. The one thing that - for me - seperates this board from the others is the texture of the keys. I simply canot stand the "plastic, shiny, cheapo" keys most MIDI controllers offer. I prefer the "matte, ivory-like" feel of this board. Anything similar to this will make me happy!

Can you please recommend some MIDI controllers based on this? I need 61+ keys. Thanks!

Hi Mark, and welcome to the forum. I believe that ivorite and the other fake ivory surfaces are available only on the higher priced machines. I could be wrong, but I think that the RD700GX is the cheapest of the Roland keyboards with 'ivory feel' (Roland's term for it). At present it is perceived to be a 'high-end' luxury, and marketed as such.

Good luck in your search,

Jonathan
