Does anyone had/have an upright Carl Strauss Berlin or played it before? I cant find any comments on the pianos made by them. I wonder if you could share some information like the sound of it.

Thank you in advance.

It is likely a "private label" piano. This is a generic piano, almost invariably Chinese-made, labeled for a specfic dealership. Search on "stencil" for more information.

Thanks Steve - I think you might be right. I found an old newspaper published in 1903, when one of Carl Strauss was sold at an auction. It is rather interesting to know that Stencil was already then.

I found some interesting notes: Strauss was at least in two cases a bogus company in Berlin. There was an auction in Sidney in 1886 where Wilhelm Strauss, Berlin pianos were sold. But it was also stated that such a company never existed.

Another company was called Strauss & Weimar, Berlin. They had an advertisement in the magazin Musical Opinion (London) in 1882 and 1883, where they stated that their intruments are of high quality but economicaly priced. The real producer of these pianos is unknown, but they sold a lot of them.
