It is looking like I will have to cancel all 4 appointments today. We're up to about 18 inches here and it is still coming down. I just hope I can make the dress rehearsal for my concert at 7 PM.

You might make it there Bill but, what if you forget to wear the dress? Sorry, I just couldn't resist the temptation, you know me!
It's coming from Wisconsin on over to Michigan. We have sleet, rain and snow mix right now. I canceled my day too. Had 7 scheduled out of town.
Hey, do you think you could manage to keep it there or re-route it to Florida instead? Bob needs a cool down.....

I managed to get one done. I only got stuck briefly in the snow. A man passing by and a man out shoveling snow gave me a push. They canceled the final rehearsal (which is what they should call it since the attire is casual). The Bass in the quartet has never rehearsed with us yet. The quartet will rehearse with piano right before the concert.
We'll be getting the wind tonight and the temps will fall below zero! When I made it to the one appointment, there were very few cars out but there were plows. It was eerily beautiful. Mini avalanches of snow were falling spontaneously out of trees. Trees would drop snow bombs on my windshield, then one of those avalanches hit my car right on top. FRUMPPP!!! The streets had a snow pack on them and those temperatures tonight will freeze it hard. The wind will blow drifts around providing for many opportunities to get stuck. I wish this could all have happened when I was in Los Angeles or Louisiana.
Speaking of Louisiana, the South Louisiana coast got snow last week as did Houston. Los Angeles got plenty of rain after a very long drought. It snowed in the mountains near there. Los Angeles is never more beautiful than after a storm like that when you can actually see those snow capped mountains clearly across the city. If you go there, you can buy a post card that shows a gleaming view of downtown with its sky scrapers, a crystal clear blue sky and snow capped mountains behind it. It's basically a false advertisement because it only looks like that about once a year at best. During the fire season, the air is thick with smoke. I really do prefer to live here.

I don't worry about sharks....Here is a view from my kayak. This gator is about 12 foot long and I'm about 20 feet away. They don't see you as food if you're in a kayak......

We never did get hit like they said we were going to get hit. Glad you got one done at least Bill. I got screwed! We still haven't had much of anything like what they told us we were going to get even as of this writing. Just some ice and some sleet but nothing like what I was expecting NO thanks to the weather reports... Wish they wouldn't hype things up so much like that days before hand only to find out it isn't what they claimed. Weather forecasters have the only job where you can be wrong all the time and still get paid for it. Bob, They may not see you as food but, they see you! And, they may not see you as food until you flip the flipping kayak!

I remember the cold and snow all too well. Days when I would never warm up because the temp was 15 below. I would hate snow days right before Christmas, because I would have no time left to re-schedule the tunings. Chicago side streets were impassable, because they were the last plowed...and you didn't dare move someone's deck chair (marking the space they cleared) so you could park in it..... Nope, don't miss it at all, but I feel for you guys!
