I've found used versions of these two Yamahas and am wondering if anyone has experience with them. I'm mostly interested in the Grand Piano sound and keyboard action. Is the older 820 "HE" action comparable to the 620? Is the 820 audio amp (20W) really better than the 620? What would you choose?

Also considering a new Casio PX-130. All would be about the same price ($400).

between the 2, choose CLP820 which at least has better action and speakers over DGX620.

The above points out the problem with buying older DPs. Technology moves so fast that brand new entry level products out perform top line products of just a few years ago.

Always compare new DPs at your price point before buying a used one.

The older CLP will have very old piano samples not up to today's technical standadrd. The 630 is GHS keys which some find to soft. But you could always connect the CLP to a computer and use that to run the sound if the CLP has MIDI and auio inputs.
