I just wanted to share my pleasure in dealing with Roland UK regarding a (slightly) out of warranty and (slightly) malfunctioning Roland FP4 portable piano.
My FP4 has developed a slight clicking sound in black keys when playing staccato, wasn't TERRIBLE, but certainly was annoying.
I contacted Roland via email, and within two days the piano was collected from my house via courier.
I then went on a 10 day holiday (Spain is nice this time of the year;), came back and took delivery of my supremely packed piano. The entire keyboard assembly was replaced , the touch is wonderful and I even believe that it is now better than it was new - the touch seems firmer (but still with that lusciously soft keybed). Perhaps FP4 was modernised since I got my model couple of years back (it certainly increased in price- by about £300).
The communication with Roland UK reps was most friendly and caring (initially they thought that keys may simply need greasing, but suggested for piano to be collected and examined properly... which lead to a much more expensive repair of course). Roland paid for all the repairs and all transportation costs! Can customer service be any more perfect? Rhetorical question to me this- emphatic "NO!"
Absolutely thrilled with my new FP4, paired with Pianoteq of course. A wonderful combo! Backed by a great team!:)
