Hi Everyone, For the convenience of members and visitors, I've consolidated the four Catoire Chants du Crepuscule ( Songs of Twilight) so that they can be more easily accessed and heard in the order the composer originally arranged them. I hope you'll enjoy hearing these wonderful pieces. Here is the link: http://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=35614.0

Hi Horowitzian,
Yes I know, you got them as each arrived in turn. I will say though, I love listening to them as a set, as they have a larger impact that way. You can certainly play them that way on your iTunes as well.
It's interesting that Catoire composed No. 1 as a reverie. As I listened to the whole group, it later occurred to me that perhaps these character pieces are not so much about twilight (crepuscule) literally, that is, a time between light and darkness; but rather and more figuratively a sequence of four dreams that occur in a zone between the conscious and the subconscious. When I play or hear Catoire's idiom, it very often strikes me as being very deep. We'll never know!

Hi apple*
Yeah, you have to be pretty fast to keep up here ha-ha!
At the moment I'm working on Catoire's "Quartre Morceaux" Op. 12, and I hope to have No. 1 posted in very early January. I could do it now, but the piano will be tuned at the end of this month, so I figured I should really wait, as it will benefit the sound of the recording.
So stay tuned!
